What's your cure for the common cold?

Pounding my head repeatedly against the wall.  If I HAD a cure for the common cold I wouldn't be going to the doctor for the THIRD time in a month for a sinus infection that WILL NOT GO AWAY.  It sucks and I feel like crap and my head hurts to bad that even chocolate isn't helping.  And when chocolate doesn't help it's pretty much the end of the freaking word.  And possible the universe.

My head hurts so bad that I actually get nauseated.  And nauseated sucks right now because I made homemade lasagna last night and according to Ben it tastes even BETTER today...  :(

What's your favorite appetizer to order at a restaurant?

Gosh, it depends on where we go!

Mexican - Nachos with chicken (shredded) and jalapenos.

Italian - Usually calamari

Greek - Flat bread and the yummy dip

German - Brie and bread

Steak places - Usually some kind or shrimp goodness

American - Chili fries!

I think out of EVERY appetizer that my default fall back in calamari.  I love it.  Fried, in a steak, whatever. It's just yummy.  Dangit, now I'm hungry!

Led Zeppelin will finally offer their music online starting next month.   Of the music you buy, about how much of it do you download and how much do you buy on physical formats (CDs, vinyl, etc.)?

In the last 4 years or so, I've purchased 99% of my music online.  The only thing I DIDN'T buy online was a CD for Ben for Christmas and even then it was only because the artist wasn't available for download on any of the main stream markets.

I don't really see any reason to NOT get it online.  Less manufacturing cost, instant gratification, don't have to deal with a mall or music store or some moron teenager standing behind the counter.  Plus, most of the music I've purchased lately has been for Cassidy and I'm not about to walk out of a store carrying a Hannah Montana CD.  ;)

Have you figured out what your (or your kids') Halloween costume will be this year?  What's it going to be?

Yes!  I am going to be a witch.  It was difficult to find a witch costume that was cute but not completely skanky.  What is with all the skanky costumes this year?!  Ben is going to be "the vampire that won't die".  He has a t-shirt with a stake sticking into the front and out the back.  It's freaking awesome.  He also got some vampire teeth to glue on and and some neck bites.  I got the neck bites for my neck too so that it can look like he bit me.  TeeHee.  There's no way he could resist.  ;)  We're also going to put a bullet hole (think silver bullet) in the shirt and try to make a garlic necklace.

Cassidy is, of course, going to be Hannah Montana.  Only I don't want her to be the skanky version so we are making her costume.  The one you can buy in the store is fishnet tights, a mini skirt, boots and a tank top.  Somebody, ANYBODY, please try to find a picture of Hannah Montana wearing that.  It makes no sense to me whatsoever that the costume is like NOTHING you EVER see her wearing.  Instead we are buying her some jeans and adding a bunch of rhinestones and glitter to them and getting her a cute jacket to wear since it's alway so freaking cold outside.  We already have the wig and ear piece for when she's on stage.  It's going to be total cuteness.  :)

What are your personal memories of September 11th?

I think I was like the majority of America.  I woke up and America was a different place.  I watched TV and listened to radio broadcasts and stayed glued to news websites all day long.  I'll leave you with what I posted at my domain:

There are so many blogs out there where people with much more eloquence will write. People who have deeper insight and who have personal stories to share. So I will try to keep this short and tell you what the day means to ME.

To me today is not a day to place blame or to point fingers. Or to say what COULD have been different or what WOULD have been different. September 11th, 2001 was a tragedy. It was a horrible event that reminded us to hug our children, thank our parents and cherish our chosen partners. We learned that America has real heroes that walk the street everyday unnoticed. I think today the most important thing is to remember. Just remember.

What's your middle name?  Is there a story or history behind it?

Marie.  Along with 134136513154 other girls my age.  I really don't know the story behind it.  I should ask...

If you could write a book about anything, what would it be about?

How being a young mom can be a GOOD thing.

Duh!  Like, doesn't EVERYBODY have their homepage set to Google?!?!  If not, you should be shamed.  And not like the point a finger and laugh shame, but the kind of lasting shame that followes you around for the rest of your life haunting your every waking moment.  Like tattooing an advertisement for an online casino on your forehead.  THAT kind of shame.

Are there any snacks, food or candy that are no longer made that you desperately miss?

A few things...

1)  My grandmas shrimp salad.

2)  My other grandmas granolla with big chunks of dried papaya.  I should get the recipe from her.

3)  Reid Family Taco's™  I can make these anytime but I'm lazy and they are not at all good for you.

4)  Granny's (my uncle's mom) shoefly pie and ginger snaps.

I know these aren't conventional things.  But they are my things.

What's the nerdiest thing about you?

There are so many nerdy things about me I don't even know where to begin.  Well, yes I do, I hate the term "nerd" and prefer to be called "geek".  kthx
